Scab Hair

Definition: Not an official term, but is usually used to identify rough, coarsely-textured hair that grows in once people stop chemically relaxing their tresses. It can be an "in-between" stage as the scalp and hair adjust to no longer having relaxers applied. It's sometimes mistaken for actual natural hair texture and because of its rough feel, you may think it's how your hair grows from your scalp.
