Olive oil combined with other natural goodies and a strong, heady scent -- what more can your hair and scalp want?

Characteristics

The first thing you'll probably notice when you flip the cap open on Khoret Amen Hair Oil is the strong scent. It's strong and that may bother some people, especially if you're especially sensitive to certain smells. I like the scent, but because this is such a personal preference, everyone isn't going to love it.

If, however, the smell makes you think of woodlands and nature, press on, because the oil has a lot of good-for-your-hair ingredients in it.

As oils go, this one is very oily. A light hand is necessary; otherwise, your hair will resemble an oil slick. It's very light, despite its oiliness, so you don't have to worry that it'll weigh your hair down.

How to Use It

Use Khoret Amen Hair Oil a few different ways (bonus points for versatility):

  • As a moisturizer: Apply to freshly washed or dry hair as needed. You probably won't need to apply it every day, but concentrate it on the ends of your hair. Start with a dime size amount and add from there.
  • As a hot-oil treatment: Use the same way you would any other oil. While you can warm up the entire bottle in a container of hot water, I prefer pouring a set amount into a separate container and warming that -- no need to warm up your entire bottle when you don't have to. Next, apply to wet hair, cover with a plastic cap and let sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse well and follow up with a light application of mild shampoo (so that you don't rinse away all of the oil's conditioning properties).
  • As a scalp massage treatment: If you don't give yourself scalp massages, or are lucky enough to have someone do this for you, you don't know what you're missing. Rub a small amount of oil between your hands and massage into your scalp, using your fingertips to work it in.

Final Verdict

Based on the rather unisex smell of this product, both men and women should be able to use it. A lot of men don't want to smell like flowers and avoid using floral-scented products, so this is one that a couple can easily share.

While it may seem pricey, such a small amount goes such a long way that an 8-ounce bottle can last a while. Plus, it has a few different uses, so you really get some bang for your buck. This is one of my favorite oils to use. It makes my hair feel soft and moisturized, and because I really like the scent, I feel like my hair smells so good every time I put it on.
